welcome to lighten up yoga in the beautiful beachside village of yamba on the north coast of nsw.

Whether you are a local, holiday-maker, experienced yogi or newbie, you are invited to experience yoga the LIGHTEN UP way...

lighten up yoga is taught in a safe, down to earth and intelligent way.

For those of you who haven't done much yoga (or any at all), our yoga is taught in a safe environment, not focused on being trendy and definitely not a place where you are expected to turn yourself inside out. For those of you who are experienced, you'll have plenty of opportunities to increase or maintain your strength, flexibility and vitality at the level appropriate to you.

Classes are either in a dynamic style, which integrates the classical yoga postures with oriental healing beliefs and the energetic meridian system, or a flowing posture sequence style, based on hatha/vinyasa teachings.

Beach Yoga

- Ahhh, it's so good!

Yoga, outside, on the beach. The warm weather is here and we are making the most of it. Each morning we select the best beach conditions of the day and will text you the location for the class - making sure we always have the perfect spot!

Monday Evening 6 week course

Book in and reserve your Monday nights for you and yoga. Learn a flowing sequence that will keep you cool and calm over the final months of summer.

Workshops

Book in now for two workshops scheduled for early 2012. Join us for a detox after Christmas in early February. While in March, farewell summer with a flowing sequence intensive to ground and stabilize your yoga practice.

Christmas Break

lighten up yoga will finish on 7 December for 2011. Classes will resume on 18 January 2012.

Yoga Instructor

Alicia Hiatt trained in and taught yoga in Manly, Sydney with the Ryoho School of Yoga. After moving 'back home' to Yamba in 2005, she established lighten up yoga and has enjoyed both the move and the yoga school ever since. Alicia continues to explore yoga in all its different styles and she is currently deepening her meditation and spiritual explorations with The Diamond Approach.
